Jazz Pianoを野瀬栄進(NY在住)、シンセサイザーを植原健司(NHKのど自慢シンセサイザー奏者)に師事。
鹿児島大学博士（学術）取得

毎年アメリカで開催される世界最大規模の作曲コンペ”International Songwriting Competition”のジャズ部門にて、自身のオリジナル曲が2021年に”Paradox”、2020年”Dawn – Chaos”、 2018年”Shooting Star”の3度”Honorable Mention”(審査員特別賞)を受賞

Jazz Pianoでの演奏活動を始め、ピアノやシンセサイザーで幅広いジャンルの演奏家のサポートを務め、作曲・編曲活動も精力的に行っている。

2001年に来日したJazz Band、Manhattan Jazz Quintet のO.Aを務める。また、MJQとセッションする企画にて、T.Saxアンディ・スニッツァーと共演。演奏のレクチャーをメンバーそれぞれから受け、ベーシストのチャーネット・モフェットから大絶賛される。

ジャズピアノでは、これまでにLew Tabackin(ts)、Bigbandでタケカワユキヒデ(vo)、早見優(vo)、中西圭三(vo)、GILLE(vo)と共演、元ネイティブサンの福村博(tb)、若手JAZZギタリストNo.1と称 される荻原亮(gt)・スガシカオのベーシスト坂本竜太(ba)のDosLuna、世界的に活躍するトランペッターの ヒロ野口、iTune JazzチャートNo.1を獲得した実績をもつトランペッター島裕介(tp)、諫早文化会館大ホールにおいてマリーン(vo)バンドのジャズピアノ及びキーボーディストを務め、コモブチキイチロウ(ba)、高田晋(ds)等と共演した他多数のミュージシャンと共演。

シンセサイザーでは、稲垣潤一、マリーン、生沢佑一（Bz松本孝弘ソロツアー・ボーカリスト）、大森洋平（映画1リット ルの涙挿入歌「グライダー」）、MAMALAID RAG（NTTDocomo 九州CMソング挿入歌「そばにいたい」等）など、ジャンルの幅を超え多数のミュージシャンと共演している。

嬉野市制10周年記念式典(リバティ)にて、Cana from Sotte Bosse（2007年日本ゴールドディスク大賞新人賞受賞アーティスト）の楽曲を、ピアノと弦楽でのオールアレンジメント担当し、当日のピアノ演奏を務めた。また、同イベントにてメジャーアーティスト「ゆず」の篠笛奏者佐藤和哉と共演。

鹿児島大学博士（学術）取得のほか、障害児教育修士、社会福祉士、学校心理士、ガイダンスカウンセラー等、多数の教育・福祉関連資格を取得しており、音楽活動と合わせて社会福祉活動にも尽力している。

Kaoru Hashimoto is a jazz pianist, synthesizer player and composer. He finished a doctoral course and obtained his PhD at Kagoshima University in 2012. He studied jazz piano under Eishin Nose (NYC, USA) and studied synthesizer under Kenji Uehara (Fukuoka, Japan).

In 2001, Kaoru appeared as jazz band of opening act on “Manhattan Jazz Quintet”. At the same time he participated MJQ’s Jazz seminar and experienced to session with MJQ’s members.

Between 2012 and 2019, he performed in more than ten jazz festivals across Japan.

In 2016, he arranged a song for Ureshino City (Saga Prefecture), with a 3-part chorus.

In 2017, he released his CD “GENESIS” on Todoroki Jazz Records. It was recorded on May 5th, 2017. “GENESIS” is comprised of a piano trio and a trumpet quartet. All songs were written by him, including two improvisations.

Also in 2018, he released another CD “Ka-Cho-Fu-Getsu” by himself. This was recorded on April 25th, 2018. “Ka-Cho-Fu-Getsu” is comprised of a violin, piano and percussion trio. All songs for this album were also written by him.

In 2020, he released his CD “Paradox” on Playwright. It was recorded on May 9-10th, 2020. All songs were written by him.

Also in 2020, he released digital single “Flee and Free” on Playwright. This tune was recorded May 10th 2020, when Japan was state of emergency at that time due to covid-19. This tune’s concepts are “flee from traditional jazz style” and “free from typical jazz theory.” So, he named this tune “Flee and Free.” This tune was played with an explosive energy.

In 2021, he released digital album “Libertas with strings” on Playwright. It was recorded on 10th, 2020. All songs were written by him.

In 2023, he released his CD “One Step Beyond” on Playwright. It was recorded on April 16th and May 21th, 2022. All songs were written by him.

He has performed with artists including Lew Tabackin, Andy Snitzer, Marlene, Yukihide Takekawa, Yu Hayami, Junichi Inagaki, Keizo Nakanishi, Jiro Yoshida and so on.
